DESKRIPSI:

Sistem endokrin merupakan jaringan kelenjar internal yang menghasilkan hormon untuk mempertahankan homeostasis tubuh, mengatur pertumbuhan, metabolisme, fungsi reproduksi, imunitas, dan adaptasi terhadap stres. Hormon dilepaskan secara langsung ke aliran darah dan berperan sebagai pembawa pesan kimia yang bekerja pada sel target yang memiliki reseptor spesifik. Berbeda dengan sistem saraf yang menyampaikan sinyal melalui impuls elektrik dengan respon sangat cepat, sistem endokrin mengatur proses tubuh melalui sinyal kimia dengan efek yang lebih lambat tetapi bertahan lebih lama dan mempengaruhi banyak organ sekaligus.
