Sepsis adalah disfungsi organ yang mengancam jiwa yang disebabkan oleh disregulasi respon host terhadap infeksi. Sepsis dan septik syok adalah masalah kesehatan utama, berdampak pada jutaan orang di seluruh dunia setiap tahun dan membunuh di antara satu dalam tiga dan satu dari enam yang terpengaruh. Identifikasi awal dan manajemen yang tepat di jam-jam awal setelah perkembangan sepsis terbukti meningkatkan hasil. Rekomendasi dalam dokumen ini dimaksudkan untuk memberikan panduan bagi dokter yang merawat pasien dewasa dengan sepsis atau syok septik di rumah sakit.
