Deskripsi: Manajemen publik merupakan disiplin yang mendasar bagi kemajuan suatu negara dan kesejahteraan masyarakat. Dalam era yang terus berubah dan kompleks seperti sekarang ini, tantangan yang dihadapi oleh para pemimpin publik semakin meningkat. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan pemahaman yang mendalam tentang konsep, prinsip, dan praktik yang terkait dengan manajemen publik.
Prakata ini bertujuan untuk memberikan wawasan tentang manajemen publik sebagai suatu disiplin yang strategis dan krusial dalam pengelolaan masyarakat. Manajemen publik bukan hanya sebatas administrasi pemerintahan, tetapi juga melibatkan perencanaan, pengorganisasian, pelaksanaan, dan pengendalian kebijakan publik untuk mencapai tujuan yang telah ditetapkan.
Manajemen publik memainkan peran penting dalam membangun institusi publik yang efektif dan efisien, yang mampu memberikan pelayanan yang berkualitas kepada masyarakat. Hal ini melibatkan proses pengelolaan sumber daya manusia, keuangan, informasi, dan teknologi yang optimal. Selain itu, manajemen publik juga berperan dalam mendorong transparansi, akuntabilitas, dan partisipasi publik dalam pengambilan keputusan yang berdampak pada masyarakat. Dalam prakata ini, akan dijelaskan beberapa konsep kunci dalam manajemen publik, seperti perencanaan strategis, manajemen kinerja, inovasi, kepemimpinan, dan kolaborasi antar sektor. Selain itu, akan dibahas pula tantangan dan peluang yang dihadapi oleh manajer publik dalam menghadapi perubahan sosial, ekonomi, dan politik yang cepat.
