Abstract

Cardiac arrest will end in death if quick aid is not provided within 10 minutes, so immediate is needed right away. Because medical personnel are not at the scene at all times, trained lay people are required to perform Basic Life Support (BLS) if they come into an emergency situation at work or in a public area. BLS can be achieved by combining demonstration methods with lectures and audiovisuals to deliver health education. The aim of this research is to review articles on the effect of health education on the level of knowledge of Basic Life Support (BLS) in students. This study is a literature review based on six peer-reviewed studies that have been published. The articles for the review were found in data-based journals, such as PubMed and Google Scholar, using the keywords health education and basic life support. The article is restricted to the years 2015-2020, which can be accessed in full text for free. Then identified, screened, determined to be eligible, and included in the database. As a result, health education has an impact on basic life support knowledge. The level of knowledge related to BLS can be increased by providing health education.
